YMCA Heart of England are looking for a Lead Worker to join the team based in Erdington, Birmingham. The successful candidate will join us on a full time, fixed term basis until 30th November 2029. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £29,211 per annum.

YMCA Heart of England is a Christian charity providing a range of life-changing services for the local community. With a turnover of over £4m, we house over 300 young people, most of whom previously were homeless, and support them to get their lives back on track. We also care for pre-school children in our nursery and run various social enterprises to create employment and generate income for our charitable work.

With over 100 Staff and volunteers working for us and thousands of people using our many premises every year, we are an organisation committed to delivering the best possible service to our customers in line with our Christian ethos and values.

We are recruiting Lead Worker to join our team on a full time, fixed term contract. You will be based in Erdington.

About The Lead Worker Role

You will be required to effectively access and implement a programme of support within the Adult Social Care framework. You will be required to undertake a variety of tasks ranging from assisting in the processing and assessment of applications to be housed at the scheme to void checks. It will also involve supporting the team to deliver a high-quality rent collection and arrears recovery service, whilst ensuring accurate records are kept on each tenant using our internal support and housing management system. You will need the ability to handle resident issues, such as anti-social behaviour.

About you:

To excel in this role, you will need experience in housing management or supported housing and income management or debt recovery/collection (preferably in a social housing environment), and a working knowledge of housing issues and legislation, particularly pertaining to homelessness. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, question and influence when needed.
