Role: Lead Worker Location: Rakeway, Birmingham Salary: £26,227.50 pro rata per annum Hours: 19 hours per week (permanent contract) Start Date: 8th July 2026
About The Role
Support single adults or childless couples with multiple vulnerabilities through flexible and targeted assistance. Provide early intervention to enhance recovery and resilience, working across the city in partnership to support individuals in their own homes, supported housing, or chosen locations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct effective needs and risk assessments in line with the service’s eligibility criteria, ensuring referred individuals receive appropriate support.
- Offer a flexible service—adjusting frequency and intensity of support as needed and reintroducing assistance to dormant cases if tenancy or support concerns arise.
- Assist customers with:
- Sustaining accommodation
- Improving health and wellbeing outcomes
- Developing skills for independent living (e.g., practical support, budgeting, debt management)
- Maximising income and financial stability
- Act as a community navigator—connecting clients to local services, activities, and support networks to combat isolation.
- Collaborate with key agencies (housing, health, substance misuse, etc.)—advocate for clients to help overcome barriers to accessing services.
- Adopt consultative methods—active involvement of service users in planning and delivering their own support.
- Promote traditional values with professional pride in service delivery.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Desirable but not essential:
- Experience working agilely across multiple locations supporting a diverse case load.
- Key requirements:
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in IT systems—documenting support, managing databases, and generating reports
- Relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential)
- Knowledge of health and social care needs
- Understanding of relevant legislation for supporting young people
- Ability to build effective partnerships with colleagues, partner agencies, and service users
