Leadership Academy Trainer

Leadership Academy Trainer / Facilitator

We are recruiting experienced Leadership Trainers / Facilitators to support a high-profile transformation programme within the Metropolitan Police Service’s Leadership Academy.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering a large-scale leadership development programme, designed to upskill 30,000+ police officers and staff and embed a new leadership culture across the organisation.

  • Location: Central London (WC2B) – Face-to-Face Delivery
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Contract Length: 6-Month Contract
  • Rate: £367 Umbrella / £281.41 PAYE per day

The Role

As a Leadership Academy Trainer, you will deliver engaging, in-person training as part of the Operator Level Leadership Programme (OLLP).

This is a facilitation-focused role (not design), where your ability to engage, challenge, and inspire adult learners will be critical.

  • Fully face-to-face delivery (no remote/hybrid)
  • Monday–Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
  • Location: Central London (De Vere Connaught Rooms and other MPS sites)
  • Typically, two trainers per session
  • Work as part of a large trainer cohort, delivering at pace in a structured, quality-assured environment

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Deliver structured, face-to-face leadership training to mixed cohorts
  • Facilitate one-day workshops for Police Constables, Detectives, and Police Staff
  • Create an engaging, inclusive learning environment
  • Encourage discussion, reflection, and behavioural change
  • Manage group dynamics and handle challenging conversations professionally
  • Ensure consistent delivery across multiple cohorts
  • Maintain attendance, feedback, and evaluation records

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering classroom-based training
  • Strong facilitation and workshop delivery experience
  • Experience training adult learners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage and manage diverse groups
  • Experience delivering structured learning programmes

Desirable Attributes

  • Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent)
  • Experience delivering leadership, management, or behavioural programmes
  • Background in public sector, policing, or regulated environments

✅ Policing experience is not essential – strong trainers from Learning & Development (L&D), education, corporate, or consulting backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
