Learner Services Advisor

Location: Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom

Salary: £26,300 to £28,800 per annum (FTE)

Employment type: Term-time only, contract, 37.5 hours per week

As a key part of our team, the Learner Services Advisor plays an essential role in delivering outstanding support to our students, ensuring they have the guidance and resources needed to succeed.

Role Overview

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Learner Services Advisor to join our team in Plymouth. You will be the first point of contact for learners, providing timely assistance and advice to enhance their experience and engagement. This is a vital position within our Education & Teaching sector that directly contributes to the success and wellbeing of our learners.

It is expected that this role will be across 40 weeks of the year - 38 term time weeks and 2 additional weeks. This can be discussed further in interview. The salary will therefore be pro-rata to the FTE salary listed above. The role is a contract role, to run from 1st September 2026 to 16th July 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for learners, responding promptly to enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Provide guidance on course information, enrolment procedures, and available learner support services.
  • Support learners with administrative tasks including registration, attendance tracking, and documentation management.
  • Collaborate with academic and support teams to identify and address learner needs, barriers, and welfare concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and learner data in compliance with organisational policies and GDPR regulations.
  • Assist in organising learner events, workshops, and induction activities to promote engagement and retention.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and contribute ideas to improve learner services and processes.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Experience in a learner support, customer service, or administrative role within the education sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse learners and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with learner management systems is advantageous.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, administration, or learner services is beneficial but not essential.
