Learning and Development Advisor

Learning & Development Advisor

Alexander Lloyd is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a Surrey-based organisation in the recruitment of this vital role.

About the Role

This key position within the HR & Organisational Development function focuses on delivering a high-quality, business-aligned learning and development service. You will collaborate closely with the HR & OD Director, line managers, and stakeholders to enhance workforce capability, design engaging training programs, and foster continuous improvement across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and deliver high-quality training sessions to colleagues across the organisation
  • Build strong relationships with managers to identify learning needs and development opportunities
  • Support the continuous improvement of L&D services, aligning with organisational goals and values
  • Advise on training best practices, including mandatory and compliance requirements
  • Line-manage and support the development of an L&D Assistant
  • Contribute to performance and development reviews, supporting capability building across teams
  • Manage and respond to L&D queries, ensuring a professional and timely service
  • Maintain and update training systems and learning records accurately
  • Use data and reporting to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making
  • Support HR & OD initiatives and projects, contributing to organisational development
  • Coordinate training delivery, including liaison with managers, booking venues, and managing external providers
  • Oversee training administration, such as attendance tracking, confirmations, and invoicing
  • Ensure effective use of the training budget, delivering value for money
  • Promote learning opportunities (including qualifications and apprenticeships) and support funding claims

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a Learning & Development, training, or HR support role
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging training both in-person and virtually
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across all organisational levels
  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Confident use of systems and Microsoft Office, including data analysis and management capabilities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused mindset
  • Understanding of Learning & Development principles and their impact on organisational performance
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Surrey when required
