Learning and Development Manager

Harrison Clarke is seeking a Learning and Development Manager to join our high-performing team, partnering with some of the most exciting VC-backed AI startups shaping the future.

Harrison Clarke is a leading Search & Venture firm that brings together the top 1% of Cloud, Data and AI talent. We are seeing a strong demand for top-tier engineering talent that can build, shape and scale tech startups. To support this growth, we are seeking a motivated Learning and Development Manager to become a vital part of our people & culture. As the Learning and Development Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping and scaling learning strategies that drive both business growth and employee development. In this role, you will design and deliver impactful learning programs, collaborate closely with leadership to build, and foster a culture of continuous learning that enhances performance, engagement, and long-term success across the organisation. This role is office-based, reflecting the importance placed on face-to-face coaching and development.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver training programs
  • Conduct skill gap analyses to identify capability needs and implement program design.
  • Align the development with company philosophy, values, and expectations.
  • Build and run succession planning programs that prepare our recruiters for their career within Harrison Clarke.
  • Design and run structured 30/60/90 onboarding and mentorship programs.
  • Driving time to first placement and supporting sales leaders to deliver speed to competency, aligned to both industry best practice and internal standards.
  • Define and track success metrics for L&D initiatives (engagement, retention, performance improvement).
  • Grow the L&D function from the ground up and grow it as the company scales.

About You

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, or Recruitment within an agency setting
  • Strong experience across recruitment models including contingent & retained, permanent & contract.
  • Proven track record designing and leading development programs.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and program improvements
  • Experience managing coaching, mentoring, talent review, and succession planning initiatives
  • Deep understanding of the full recruitment lifecycle and related sales processes, including: lead generation, Client mapping and job qualification, Retainers and sales conversion metrics.
  • Confidence delivering development at scale, from company-wide sessions to 1:1 coaching.
