Learning & Development Consultant A newly created role with real scope to shape how learning is done at Pearse Recruitment
Pearse Recruitment is growing fast. As we expand our team and enter new markets, we’re investing in the infrastructure that makes long-term success possible. We are seeking a talented Learning & Development (L&D) Consultant to help new hires get up to speed faster and support consultants’ careers from day one.
This flexible role begins at 3 days per week, with a clear path to full-time within the first 3 months as the business continues to grow.
About the Role
You’ll collaborate closely with our leadership team to design, deliver, and continually enhance Learning & Development programs across the business. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing structured training programmes to accelerate new starters’ productivity and ensure they meet billing targets quickly.
- Developing our current learning framework to support consultants at all career stages, from entry-level to senior leadership.
- Coaching and upskilling consultants in:
- Sales technique
- Candidate management
- Client development
- Business development
- Creating engaging and customised training materials, including:
- Workshops
- E-learning modules
- Playbooks
- Supportive resources (tailored specifically to a recruitment environment).
- Assessing skills gaps across teams and devising targeted development plans to address them.
- Partnering with managers to cultivate a coaching culture throughout the business.
- Tracking and reporting on L&D outcomes, ensuring the impact aligns with performance metrics.
- Supporting the rollout of new tools, systems, and processes via structured training initiatives.

Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in an L&D role, preferably within recruitment, sales, or professional services.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of how recruitment businesses operate, including their unique pressures, rapid pace, and standards of excellence.
- Experience designing and delivering training programmes that measurably improve consultant productivity.
- Strong ability to facilitate workshops, engage, and motivate consultants at all levels.
- Data-driven approach — ability to measure L&D impact and adjust programmes accordingly.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of building trust rapidly across the organisation.
- Self-motivated and proactive mindset, with a track record of building new initiatives rather than maintaining the status quo.
