Learning and Development Manager

Learning and Development Manager

Are you passionate about creating a culture of continuous learning and leadership development? We’re looking for a dynamic Learning and Development Manager to join our Colleague Experience team. This is a strategic and operational role, responsible for shaping and delivering high-impact learning programmes that support our Trust’s vision, values, and people strategy.

You’ll lead a team of L&D Facilitators and work collaboratively across People Services, as well as with external partners, to ensure our colleagues have access to inclusive, engaging, and effective development opportunities.

We are happy to discuss flexible working patterns and can consider part-time working. Please note, however, there is a requirement to travel and attend any of our UHMBT sites weekly, as much of the delivery to teams is in person.

The post is awaiting job evaluation confirmation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of leadership and development programmes
  • Provide strategic oversight and coaching to L&D Facilitators
  • Collaborate with OD, Inclusion, and People Services to foster a psychologically safe and inclusive culture
  • Commission and manage external training providers
  • Use data and insights to evaluate programme effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
  • Represent the Colleague Experience team in cross-functional groups and external partnerships
  • Ensure alignment with UHMBT’s People Strategy and values

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
