Learning & Development Specialist
Location: Leeds Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working
The HR Team

Role Purpose and Remit
The Learning & Development Specialist will support the design, coordination and delivery of Capsticks’ firmwide learning and development programme. Working closely with the L&D Business Partner, the role will focus on embedding and scaling core programmes across people management, early careers, business skills, and team effectiveness. The role will play a key part in ensuring learning is practical, accessible, and aligned to the firm’s strategic priorities.
This is a delivery and development-focused role, supporting the evolution of a structured, firmwide L&D offer. The role reports to the Learning and Development Business Partner and will work closely with the wider HR team.
Responsibilities
Programme Delivery & Facilitation
- Deliver management, business skills, and early careers training sessions.
- Support the delivery of core people management programmes and professional skills development.
- Adapt and tailor content to meet the needs of different audiences across the firm.

- Support the design, refresh, and continuous improvement of learning materials and session content.
- Develop engaging resources for the Capsticks Academy and other learning platforms.
- Contribute to the evolution of learning into more flexible and blended formats.
Early Careers & Capability Support
- Support the rollout and coordination of early careers development sessions.
- Assist in embedding clear development pathways for apprentices, paralegals, trainees, and newly qualified associates.
Learning Coordination & Systems
- Support the coordination of firmwide learning activity, including scheduling, communications, and materials preparation.
- Assist in maintaining learning resources and, where applicable, supporting the implementation and ongoing administration of an LMS.
- Monitor attendance, feedback, and learning data to support reporting and continuous improvement.
Supplier & Stakeholder Support
- Liaise with external providers to support delivery and logistics of agreed programmes to budget.
- Work collaboratively with HRBPs and divisional contacts to support the rollout of learning initiatives.
- Contribute to embedding a culture of self-led learning and continuous development.
Person Specification
The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate:
- Experience in learning and development or professional training environments.
- Confidence and skill in facilitating workshops or training.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.

Experience of working within a law firm or professional services environment is desirable but not essential.
