Learning And Development Specialist
Learning & Development Lead
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid) Type: Permanent
We are working with a growing professional services client in Birmingham. In line with their commitment to people and their development, they are seeking a Learning & Development Lead to support continued growth and capability across their business.
This hands-on L&D role involves designing and delivering training, working closely with managers to embed a strong learning culture across the organisation. You’ll shape practical development initiatives that directly align with business needs while reporting to the HR Director. You will play a crucial role in overseeing learning programmes in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and maintain an L&D plan aligned to evolving business needs
- Design and run engaging training sessions, covering:
- Technical skills
- Behavioural competence
- Leadership development
- Facilitate workshops, onboarding inductions, and early-career development programmes
- Partner with managers to identify development needs
- Support leadership and career pathways across the business
- Oversee education and professional qualifications such as:
- Graduate development initiatives
- Apprenticeship schemes
- Formal mentoring structures
- Identify skill gaps and coordinate with external training providers/third parties
- Manage Learning Management Systems, reporting dashboards, and programme logistics
- Evaluate training effectiveness and implement continuous improvement measures
- Foster a positive learning culture via knowledge-sharing initiatives

Experience & Qualifications
Your profile should include:
Required
- Proven experience in L&D within professional services or a comparable sector
- Strong ** facilitation, programme management, and stakeholder engagement** skills
- Track record supporting development programmes and career progression frameworks
- Professional yet flexible approach to engage senior stakeholders and grassroots teams

Ideal
- Experience with LMS platforms or digital learning tools
- Exposure to specialist or regulated learning environments (e.g. technical, compliance-focused)
- Tenured coaching or mentoring projects
- Familiarity with employee development data analytics
