Learning and Development Trainer

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Essex-based charity, who are looking for a passionate and proactive Learning & Development Trainer to join their People & Culture team. You'll play a key role in shaping how their people learn and grow - leading on training strategy, mandatory compliance training, and management development across the whole organisation.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves designing and delivering great training, building relationships with managers and stakeholders, and using data to keep improving what's on offer. You'll work closely with the Associate Director of People & Culture and the wider team to make sure the learning offer genuinely supports their people and their cause.

What you'll be doing

  • Identifying skills gaps and future workforce needs across the organisation, and building training strategies to address them.
  • Leading the design, delivery and evaluation of engaging training for employees at all levels.
  • Overseeing mandatory and compliance training, including monitoring completion rates and producing reports for the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Driving the Line Manager training agenda and supporting the development of strong people-management skills.
  • Managing an organisational coaching caseload, supporting staff and senior managers alike.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external training providers, and sourcing funding or sponsorship opportunities.
  • Managing the training budget, and maintaining a clear, consistent learning calendar.
  • Keeping accurate training records and using data to measure the impact of what we deliver.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
