About the Role
Internal Job Title: Learning Coach
Strategic Direction and Development
- Provide a supportive service to all pupils and families in school whose difficulties are creating significant barriers to learning.
- Work directly with identified individuals or groups of pupils to address difficulties and improve:
- Behaviour and engagement
- Achievement and progress
- Monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning via:
- A range of assessment and monitoring strategies
- Tailored against pre-determined learning objectives
- Liasise with:
- School staff
- Education welfare officers
- Other relevant agencies to identify pupils at risk of disaffection and collaborate on solutions.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 2 in Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children in a school environment.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and its learning outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse settings:
- One-to-one support
- Small-group tuition
- Whole-class activities
- Capacity to contribute to teachers’ lesson planning and preparation.
