ABOUT THE ROLE
This Learning & Development (L&D) Assistant role is to work within our London based HR department. The department is split across HR, Payroll, Benefits, Recruitment and L&D. Working closely with the L&D Manager, the role will see you work across the entire business, liaising with lawyers and business professionals at all seniority levels. Alongside the L&D Manager, you will ensure the smooth delivery of professional skills and technical development sessions, providing invaluable administrative support, as well as championing a growth mindset around the firm.
Some of your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Support the L&D Manager to coordinate development programme logistics, including scheduling, registrations, room bookings
- Act as the first point of contact for L&D queries
- Prepare materials and work with the L&D Manager to develop course content
- Build high quality relationships with external training providers and internal stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Collate course feedback, analyse respondent data and make recommendations to enhance the offering
- Process invoices from suppliers and other external contacts.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for their first role in an L&D team and over time, the position could lead on to a broader role, providing more direct support in the facilitating of professional skills and technical development sessions.
Note to agencies: We are only accepting direct applications at this time.
ABOUT YOU
We are open to seeing university graduates as well as candidates with transferable expertise looking for their first L&D role. You may also have had some exposure, professionally, to an L&D team and want to work in a larger, more complex organisation. You will be able to bring a high degree of energy and enthusiasm, coupled with excellent organisational skills, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of others and delivering an outstanding colleague experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
