What’s expected of you?
DeterTech is looking for a Learning & Development Manager to join our team, on a 6 month FTC basis.
The Learning & Development Manager will implement and embed a high-impact learning strategy that strengthens capability across the organisation.
This role will support the business to achieve improvements in commercial performance, operational excellence and leadership effectiveness by delivering relevant, engaging and measurable learning solutions. The postholder will ensure that learning is aligned to business and people strategy, future skills requirements and cultural priorities across the group.
This is a strategic and hands-on role, responsible for building scalable learning frameworks while ensuring high engagement and tangible return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Strategy & Delivery
- Support the People Director with the development and implementation of a structured Learning & Development strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Design and deliver high-quality training programmes across Sales, Operations and Management populations.
- Create blended learning solutions including workshops, virtual sessions, e-learning and peer learning.
- Embed leadership and management development pathways to strengthen internal capability.

Sales & Operational Capability
- Develop targeted sales capability programmes focused on commercial performance, pipeline management and customer excellence.
- Partner with operational leaders to design technical and process training to drive performance consistency.
- Ensure onboarding pathways accelerate time to competence and productivity.
Learning Platform & Technology
- Manage and optimise the Learning Management System.
- Increase platform engagement through content curation, internal campaigns and interactive learning pathways.
- Introduce innovative technologies including interactive assessments, AI-enabled learning tools and digital diagnostics.
- Track usage metrics and continuously improve user experience.
Skills & Workforce Capability
- Implement skill matrices across key business areas.
- Conduct structured Training Needs Analyses in partnership with leadership teams.
- Develop annual and quarterly training plans aligned to strategic priorities.
- Support succession planning through capability mapping and targeted development.

Budget & Governance
- Manage the Learning & Development budget effectively, ensuring value for money and measurable return.
- Select and manage external training providers where appropriate.
- Monitor compliance and mandatory training completion where relevant.
Measurement & Impact
- Define success metrics for all learning interventions.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, behavioural impact and performance data.
- Provide regular reporting to the People & Culture Director and Executive team.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proven experience in a Learning & Development Manager or Senior L&D role.
- Experience delivering commercial and operational training programmes.
- Strong knowledge of modern learning technologies and digital learning platforms.
- Experience implementing skills frameworks and training needs assessments.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to link learning outcomes to business performance
- Experience managing budgets and external suppliers.

- Increased engagement and utilisation of learning platform.
- Improved sales and operational performance metrics linked to training
- Clear skills matrices and development pathways embedded.
- Positive feedback and demonstrable behavioral change post training.
