Learning & Development Manager
Spider is advertising on behalf of a Top 200 UK law firm and one of the region's oldest, most established, and fastest-growing firms, with over 280 colleagues and a strong Partnership that has an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the role:
As the Learning & Development Manager, you will take the lead on the smooth running of the L&D function to ensure that learning, development and education (Trainees, Apprentices, Cilex) solutions are designed and delivered to fully align with the Firm’s strategy of investing in its colleagues.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Manage and support apprentice solicitors, trainee solicitors and CILEX trainees throughout their development, ensuring successful progression in partnership with supervisors, HR colleagues and education providers.
- Oversee the firm's work experience and vacation scheme programmes, managing recruitment, programme delivery and participant engagement.
- Develop and manage the learning and development short course programme, induction programmes and professional qualification requirements across all six office locations.
- Develop and manage the modular Academy programmes.
- Conduct learning needs analysis and create engaging blended learning solutions, including classroom, virtual and digital learning resources.
- Introduce innovative and engaging wellbeing initiatives.
- Build strong relationships to effectively promote and monitor programme effectiveness, learner feedback and continuous improvement.
- In conjunction with the L&D Co-ordinator ensure the L&D database is up to date.
- Manage multiple learning projects, maintain accurate learning records, ensure compliance with apprenticeship and regulatory requirements, and promote a culture of continuous learning across the firm.
- Develop and deliver training sessions as required.

About you:
As the Learning & Development Manager, you will have had previous experience designing, delivering and managing learning and development programmes and supporting early careers development, ideally within a professional services environment. You will possess excellent programme and project management skills, alongside strong facilitation, presentation and stakeholder management abilities. Confident working with senior leaders and external providers, you will be highly organised, analytical and passionate about developing future talent. You will have a strong understanding of learning needs analysis, blended learning, instructional design and learning technologies, together with a proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
