Role: Qualified Social Worker
Service: Adult Social Care (Learning Disability & Autism Team)
Location: Leicestershire County Council (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £34.00 per hour
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing Interim Contract
Leicestershire County Council is seeking an autonomous, highly skilled Social Worker to join their specialized Learning Disability and Autism Team. This role requires a practitioner who can manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision, utilizing strengths-based methodologies while aligning practice with the council's Target Operating Model.
Core Responsibilities
Operating within a dedicated specialist service, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Complex Case Management: Independently managing a caseload of high-complexity cases involving adults with learning disabilities, neurodivergent profiles, and associated support needs.
- Court of Protection & Legal Practice: Preparing detailed court statements, legal documentation, and reports for the Court of Protection (CoP) regarding complex capacity and residence disputes.
- Statutory Safeguarding: Leading on high-level adult safeguarding enquiries, writing analytical safeguarding reports, and designing robust, risk-mitigating protection plans.
- Care Act Assessments & Support Planning: Undertaking comprehensive Care and Support Assessments under the Care Act 2014, designing person-centered Support Plans tailored to individual aspirations and strengths.
- Mental Capacity Frameworks: Conducting complex Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA) and Best Interest decision-making processes.
- Systems & Processes: Working efficiently within Leicestershire's Target Operating Model and accurately recording all casework using LiquidLogic.

Mandatory Candidate Criteria
- Professional Registration: Must be a Qualified Social Worker with an active, valid Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Specialist Experience: Substantive post-qualifying experience in an Adult Learning Disability, Autism, or Complex Safeguarding team.
- Legal & Court Competency: Proven, demonstrable experience in preparing Court of Protection statements and presenting evidence within legal frameworks.
- Systems Proficiency: Direct experience using LiquidLogic within a local authority setting is highly advantageous.
