Job Role: Learning Disability Support Worker
Service: Guernsey House
Sleeps hours:
- 10.5-hour and 16-hour per week
- Both roles include sleep-in shifts, with an additional payment of £45 per sleep-in.

About The Services
Guernsey House is home to 4 women in their 20s who each use wheelchairs, one of which is non-verbal and communicates with Makaton, and they all have a shared passion for fashion, beauty, shopping, and coffee trips. Then, Park Drive is home to two men and a lady with diverse needs who each enjoy a range of hobbies and engage in their local community. We're seeking team members who can share in these individuals' passions and provide support with a keen sense of fun and motivation.
A Day in the Life of a Learning Disability Support Worker
As a Learning Disability Support Worker, no two days are alike - much like the diverse individuals we support. Our approach revolves around person-centered planning, tailoring our services to suit the distinct requirements of each person we support. We are deeply committed to working towards positive outcomes for every individual, celebrating even the smallest milestones on their journey to personal growth. As a Support Worker, you'll be equipped with comprehensive training to provide a wide range of assistance, including personal care, behavioral support, fostering independence and confidence, and nurturing positive relationships through effective communication.
Working patterns can be full or part-time, and options for weekend shifts and'sleep-ins'. On a sleep-in shift, you'll have a private space with your own bed, remaining on-site overnight and available to respond quickly if needed, though it's expected that interruptions during the night will be minimal.

What We're Looking For
Although previous experience would be great, it's not essential, as all training and qualifications are provided on the job! The following attributes would be hugely beneficial:
- Experience with Makaton communication
- Full UK Driver's license
- An interest and willingness to engage in the hobbies of the people we support at Guernsey House and Park Drive
