Learning Manager

Role: Learning Manager Academy: Outwood Academy Easingwold Start Date: 07/09/2026 (clearances pending) Salary: £26,112 to £26,950 per annum Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only + 5 additional days


About the Role

Join us as a Learning Manager, a pivotal role focused on welfare, strategic intervention, and data-driven support. This position requires someone passionate about removing academic and behavioural barriers to learning, ensuring all students thrive, and managing complex cases in collaboration with external agencies.

This is a fast-paced, front-line role combining strategic analysis with hands-on intervention—perfect for those driven by impact.


Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Drive Intervention

    • Use the Praising Stars system and MIS data to track academic progress and behaviour.
    • Implement early interventions for students at risk.
  • Lead on Safeguarding & Welfare

    • Act as a key safeguarding link.
    • Attend Case Conferences and Mulri-agency meetings (CIN/TAC).
    • Record and manage safeguarding incidents effectively.
  • Manage Attendance & Behaviour

    • Lead attendance checks, conduct home visits where necessary (with Education Welfare Officer).
    • Support student readmissions and manage exclusions.
  • Support Strategic Decision-Making

    • Analyse half-termly data, produce intervention booklets.
    • Present findings to Senior Leadership Team.
  • Enhance Operational Efficiencies

    • Supervise key social times (breakfast/break/lunch).
    • Coordinate year-group events (Prom, residential trips, etc.).
    • Respond to internal radio calls for lesson support.

Additionally, as outlined in the full job description, you will:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for behaviour-related incidents.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including Education Welfare Officers.
  • Chair Children in Need (CIN) and Team Around the Child (TAC) meetings. -Coordinate logistics such as vaccinations, photographs, and attendance sweeps.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Experience in a school environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of issues affecting young people and how to support them.
  • Strong communication, both verbal and written, across diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in common ICT software, including Microsoft Office.

Crucially, you must:

  • Work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Engage sympathetically with students.
  • Recognise and address potential safeguarding risks.
  • Experience collaborating with external agencies is highly desirable.
