Learning Mentor
Learning Mentor – EOTAS Support | Wokingham
Quantum Scholars is looking for an experienced and compassionate Learning Mentor to provide 1:1 support for a young learner accessing Education Other Than At School (EOTAS) in Wokingham.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping a young person develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills through personalised support.
The Role
- Provide 6 hours of 1:1 support per week (agreed days)
- Deliver tailored learning support that meets the learner’s individual needs
- Build a positive, trusting, and encouraging relationship with the young person
- Promote engagement, confidence, and independence in learning and everyday life
- Support the development of literacy skills and practical life skills
- Help the learner feel more confident carrying out everyday activities, such as:
- Using public transport
- Visiting local shops
- Monitor progress and provide Written feedback where necessary

About The Learner
You will be supporting a young learner who needs additional help with:
- Literacy
- Development of everyday life skills
Your role will focus on:
- Building confidence
- Encouraging independence
- Supporting them with everyday tasks in the community
Requirements
We’re seeking a candidate with:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and/or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work confidently and independently.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

Contract Details
Location: Wokingham (home-based tuition and community-based learning) Hours: 6 hours per week (flexible days) Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing throughout the academic year
