Learning Mentor Apprenticeship at Chowbent Primary School
Chowbent Primary School is a one-form entry primary school committed to providing a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to address social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Assist in the implementation of the school’s pastoral care and guidance systems
- Support the development and delivery of mentoring, behaviour and support plans
- Help identify pupils who require additional support and intervention
- Monitor and record pupil progress against agreed targets and action plans
- Provide feedback and reports to staff as required
- Liaise effectively with teachers, parents/carers and external agencies where appropriate
- Support the implementation of safeguarding procedures and child protection processes
- Assist in coordinating intervention programmes for vulnerable pupils
- Support pupils who are not following a full timetable or require additional supervision
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to pastoral support and safeguarding
- Promote positive behaviour, attendance and engagement with learning
- Contribute to a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions and professional development activities as required

Requirements
- GCSE in English (grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent)
- GCSE in Maths (grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent)
- Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
- Pre-employment Checks: Successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check with Children’s Barred List check, right-to-work verification and any other checks required in line with safeguarding legislation and Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
