About The Candidate

As a Learning Practitioner for Uniformed Public Services, you will contribute to a career-focused curriculum focused on developing learners’ knowledge, behaviours, and practical skills for progression into public service careers, higher education, apprenticeships, or employment. Your role will emphasize practical, scenario-based, and classroom learning in areas such as teamwork, leadership, discipline, communication, fitness, outdoor education, emergency response, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess rich, career-focused learning, embedding skills taught in the Uniformed Public Services sector.
  • Support learners’ knowledge, behaviours, and practical skills, preparing them for academics and future careers.
  • Drive engaging classroom, scenario-based, and practical learning activities.
  • Develop and utilize digital learning resources and technologies to improve student experiences and future-ready digital skills.
  • Provide valid assessment, regular formative feedback, and effective one-to-one support for learner progress.
  • Maintain sector standards, educational quality, and accurate assessment records.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification or higher in:

    • Uniformed Public Services
    • Sport
    • Outdoor Education
    • Public Services
    • A related subject area
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or equivalent.

  • Relevant vocational coaching, training experience or Uniformed Public Services experience.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in:
    • Uniformed Public Services, sport, outdoor education, coaching, or youth work.
    • Supporting learners in classroom, practical, and scenario-based environments.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to engage, motivate learners and drive positive outcomes.
  • Experience in:
    • Quality learning and assessment delivery.
    • Digital tools and technologies to enhance teaching.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and professional standards.
