Job Description
Teacher Assistant (Learning Support Assistant) – Part Time

Salary
£24,881 pro rata (£14,792 per annum)
Hours
Part time (27 hours per week, 38 weeks per year)
- Monday to Wednesday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Thursday to Friday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (Term time only)
Contract
Fixed term for one year, with a possibility of extension. Start date: 1 September 2026 Reference: 5253
About the Role
Rougham Primary School are seeking a highly motivated, kind, and caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work primarily in Key Stage 2 (KS2) at our small, friendly village school near Bury St. Edmunds.
You will need:
- A natural aptitude for behaviour management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A positive and supportive attitude

Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Assist and support teaching staff in delivering high-quality education to pupils of all abilities
- Build pupil trust and confidence, as well as engaging staff collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues to:
- Share and implement best practice
- Improve the quality of learning and pupil outcomes
- Support the school’s Performance Management process
- Enhance professional practice in line with school priorities
- Help promote the school’s wider aspirations
