Learning Support Assistants (Education Team) – Newquay Orchard
About the Role
Urban Biodiversity – the team behind Newquay Orchard – is seeking passionate Learning Support Assistants to join their Education team. Working closely with students at Newquay Orchard, you’ll support learners with additional needs and guide them through hands-on educational activities.

Newquay Orchard is a vibrant urban greenspace in Newquay, built by and for the community. Our mission is to promote sustainability, support outdoor learning, and foster a space where people of all ages can grow, explore, and relax together.
The Education team is a central part of our orchard community, nurturing learners through practical, engaging sessions both onsite and offsite.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide ** tailored support** for learners with SEND and additional needs
- Assist Education Officers in facilitating engaging, outdoor-based learning activities
- Help learners achieve their full potential in a supportive environment
- Support activities at Newquay Orchard, Grown sites, and offsite employer partnerships
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for inclusive outdoor learning
Requirements
- Previous experience working with learners, young people, or individuals with SEND
- A passion for equality, sustainability, and outdoor education
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with learners
- Ability to work within a team environment and adapt to differing learning needs
- Drive and initiative to enhance learning experiences

Benefits
- Flexible part-time hours (term-time only: 1st September – 31st July)
- Hourly rate of £13.45 per hour (subject to funding)
