Learning Support Assistant - North London - ASAP Start

£82.14 - £100 per day

Reeson Education is working with an inclusive primary school in the borough of Enfield to find an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant. If you're experienced in supporting children with additional needs and based in or around Edmonton, Southgate, Palmers Green, Enfield Town, Ponders End, Winchmore Hill, or Cockfosters, this Learning Support Assistant opportunity is ideal for you.

The Role

This Learning Support Assistant role involves providing dedicated support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and those with EHCPs. As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers to deliver tailored interventions and help children overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to deliver differentiated activities
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies and promoting positive engagement
  • Assisting with the preparation of adapted resources and materials
  • Tracking and reporting on pupil progress to the SENCO and class teacher

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role in primary education
  • Strong understanding of SEN including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with children and manage challenging behaviour
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Desirable: Training in Makaton, PECS, or sensory regulation techniques
