Location: Waterloo Lodge School, Chorley, Lancashire PR6 7AX
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8.30am - 4.30pm
Salary: £23,638 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

This is more than just a support role—it's an opportunity to inspire, encourage and empower young people to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.Working alongside experienced teachers and a supportive staff team, you'll help create a nurturing, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels valued, understood and capable of success.What you will be doing
Support teachers in delivering a broad, engaging and personalised curriculum. Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning and achieve their individual goals. Assist in implementing educational and behavioural programmes that meet a range of learning needs. Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and positive relationships. Monitor and record pupils' academic, social and emotional progress, sharing feedback with the wider team. Prepare learning resources and classroom materials to support stimulating lessons and activities. Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils can flourish. Accompany pupils on educational visits and enrichment activities, and occasionally provide transport where required.

What you will bring
We're looking for someone who is: Holds GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent). Passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential. Patient, compassionate and skilled at building positive relationships. Positive, resilient and able to remain calm when faced with challenges. Flexible and adaptable, tailoring support to meet individual needs. An effective communicator who works well as part of a team. Motivated to learn, develop and make a genuine difference every day.
