1:1 Full Time Learning Support Assistant
Reception or Year 1
We are seeking a confident, resilient, and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with additional needs. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) and ADHD, who understands the importance of consistency, clear boundaries, and positive behaviour strategies.
Your Role As a Learning Support Assistant
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with ASD and ADHD, helping them access learning and reach their full potential.
- Use calm, consistent, and structured behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement.
- Build a trusting relationship while maintaining firm and clear expectations.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
- Encourage positive social interactions, independence, and confidence throughout the school day.
- Support transitions, sensory needs, and routines to ensure the child feels safe, settled, and ready to learn.
Who You Are
- Patient, resilient, calm, and proactive.
- Confident in setting clear boundaries while building positive relationships with children.
- Experienced supporting children with ASD and ADHD, ideally within a primary school setting.
- Knowledgeable about sensory regulation, behaviour support, and de-escalation techniques.
- Able to remain composed in challenging situations and respond with empathy and consistency.
- A strong team player who is reliable, punctual, and committed to making a positive difference every day.
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs and keen to continue developing your skills through ongoing training.
