Casual Learning Support Assistant Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education, London Borough of Hillingdon
About the Role Are you passionate about helping adults achieve their potential?
Learn Hillingdon Adult Community Education is looking for enonymous and caring Casual Learning Support Assistants to support learners across a range of adult education programmes. You will play a vital role in helping learners access learning, build confidence, and achieve their goals in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
You Will
- Provide one-to-one and group support to learners in classes and community settings.
- Help create an inclusive learning environment where all learners can thrive.
- Support learners with their personal, social, and educational development.
- Work closely with tutors to identify and meet individual learner needs.
- Assist with learner reviews, assessments, and record keeping.
- Support educational visits, enrichment activities, and occasional exam invigilation.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times.
Requirements You will be:
- Ideally have experience working in education, health, social care, or a similar support role.
- Patient, approachable, and committed to helping adults overcome barriers to learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Have good IT and administrative skills.
- Have an understanding of supporting learners with a range of needs, including learners with disabilities and learning difficulties.
- Committed to safeguarding and delivering excellent customer service.

- Qualifications Check
- 5 years of referencing
- Safeguarding Checks: Must comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 requirements, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) submissions.
- Right to Work Verification & Health Questionnaire: New starters will be subject to a Right to Work document and a health questionnaire.
- Priority will be given to those at risk of redundancy within Hillingdon Council. Current employees in the redeployment pool must meet the essential criteria for shortlisting but may be prioritised.
