SEMH Learning Support Assistant | Dagenham | INDSUP

Are you passionate about supporting young people's wellbeing? Do you have Team Teach training and experience supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs? If so, we are looking for a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Dagenham.

Role Overview

As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will provide 1:1 support for a student with SEMH needs, helping them to access learning, regulate their emotions, and develop positive relationships throughout the school day.

Key Requirements

Looking for a SEMH Learning Support Assistant who...

  • Holds a valid Team Teach qualification (essential)
  • Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Is calm, resilient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • Can build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Has excellent communication skills and a nurturing approach

This SEMH Learning Support Assistant role is a fantastic opportunity to support a secondary student who requires consistency, encouragement, and structured support to succeed both academically and emotionally. As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support strategies and promote positive engagement in learning, using your Team Teach training where appropriate.
