Location: City Academy Norwich

Salary

  • FTE: A GBP 25,185 : A GBP 25,989 per annum
  • Pro Rata: A GBP 22,511 : A GBP 23,649 per annum, including an allowance for holiday pay

Role Overview

Learning Support Assistants play a vital part in delivering high-quality SEND provision across the Academy. Deployment may include:

  • In-class support
  • Small-group or 1:1 interventions
  • Working within specialist Nurture classrooms, the Cognition and Learning Base, or the SEMH Base

Applications are welcomed from aspiring teachers or those seeking to develop a career in education or the public sector.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The Professional Competencies Expected Of An LSA Are:

  • The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others.
  • Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team.
  • Be able to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrate high levels of resilience and adaptability when working with students who may present complex learning, behavioural, social, emotional or medical needs.
  • Be able to adapt approaches, routines and strategies in response to changing circumstances individual student needs and the wider demands of the school environment.
  • Able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions.
  • The ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.
