Bridging the Gap: Impact Through Intervention
We are seeking Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across Primary and Secondary settings. Unlike a general assistant, your role is focused on learning outcomes: identifying where a student is struggling and providing the specific scaffolding, tools, and encouragement they need to succeed.
Your Role as an LSA
As a Learning Support Assistant, you are the link between the teachers' high-level plan and the students' individual understanding.
- Differentiating Resources: Take a standard lesson and re-package it - creating simplified worksheets, visual aids, or word banks - to suit the specific needs of the learners you support.
- Small Group Leadership: Take charge of breakout sessions, guiding 3-5 students through a specific task to ensure they aren't overwhelmed by the pace of the main classroom.
- Promoting Independence: Use the scaffold and fade technique - providing heavy support initially and gradually stepping back as the student gains the confidence to work alone.
- Progress Tracking: Maintain clear records of student breakthroughs and hurdles, providing vital data to the Class Teacher and SENCO to help shape future lessons.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
