Learning Support Assistant – Permanent, Term-Time Only Role
About the Role
- Contract Type: Permanent, Term-Time Only
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 17:00pm (~36 teaching weeks per annum)
- Holidays: No working required during school holidays
- Salary: £27,008 – £29,700 pro rata (£23,150 – £25,457 for term-time, 36 weeks per annum)
- Start Date: September 2026

About the School
A special and outstanding school, we provide a supportive, nurturing learning environment for children. Offering holistic growth for an expanding community, this role allows you to join a transdisciplinary team of Teachers, Therapists, and Learning Support Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- 1:1 & whole-class support: Provide ad-hoc or dedicated support for children, adjusting daily to needs.
- Classroom maintenance: Help maintain a supportive learning environment.
- Administration & behaviour management: Assist with administrative tasks and support during challenging behaviour incidents.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Resilience: Physical and mental robustness—this role demands stamina.
- Personality traits: Confidence, enthusiasm, and passion for learning.
- Communication:
- Fluent English (written and verbal).
- Numeracy skills.
- Past experience:
- Behaviour management knowledge.
- Working with SEN children, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum.
- Ability to:
- Build strong relationships with children, teachers, parents, and carers.
- Manage small groups with complex needs.
- Foster positive behaviour in a nurturing setting.
