Learning Support Coordinator - English and Maths
Learner Support Team Leader (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities - SEND)
You will play a key role in coordinating support, leading a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and Teaching Assistants (TAs), and working closely with curriculum teams, parents/carers, and external agencies.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of SEND, including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and the Annual Review process
- Experience of Exam Access Arrangements (EAA)
- Proven experience of supervising or leading staff
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to analyse practice and drive improvements
- Effective communicator, able to work collaboratively with parents/carers, stakeholders, and partners
- A proactive, solution-focused approach
- A positive and professional role model
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will:
- Lead and coordinate the effective delivery of learning support in English and maths by:
- Managing and deploying support staff
- Ensuring students with EHCPs, High Needs funding, or additional needs receive appropriate, inclusive support that promotes:
- Engagement
- wellbeing
- attendance
- positive behaviour

Support staff in planning assessments, target setting, and progress monitoring using the graduated approach

Maintain accurate records and evaluate the impact of support to inform continuous improvement

Contribute to the EHCP Annual Review processes, working closely with:
- Parents/carers
- Local Authorities
- External agencies
- Curriculum teams
- College staff

Ensure statutory requirements are met

Drive clear communication of student needs and contribute to wider college activities

Support quality assurance and continuous improvement, ensuring:
- Compliance with safeguarding, equality, and SEND requirements
- Audit-ready records are maintained

Review enrolment levels and contribute to systems, including:
- High Needs funding
- Exam Access Arrangements (EAA)
- Student data accuracy
