SEN Teaching Assistants

Weston-Super-Mare Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities September Start

About the Role

Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are working with a range of mainstream Primary Schools in the Weston-Super-Mare area.

We are currently looking for candidates who want to work as SEND Teaching Assistants in their local schools.

We have multiple SEND Learning Support Assistant roles available for someone with previous experience working with special needs. These positions are both full-time or part-time opportunities, flexible to fit around your availability.

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistants will have an interest in supporting children with additional needs and possess a calm but nurturing personality, capable of adapting environments to meet the children’s needs.

We are seeking candidates with prior experience or knowledge of working with children, particularly supporting those with:

  • SEMH
  • ASD
  • ADHD
  • Speech and Language needs
  • Physical needs

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Enabling pupils with SEN to become independent learners
  • Encouraging the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school
  • Assisting with behaviour management and social-emotional development of students
  • Following the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Supporting Class Teachers in adapting lessons to allow children to access their learning
