Learning Support Practitioner Level 2 (Fixed Term) - St Paul’s CofE Academy

Level 2 Learning Support Practitioner

About the Role

The Trust Board at St Paul’s CofE Academy are seeking a caring and highly motivated Level 2 Learning Support Practitioner to join their welcoming and supportive team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Providing excellent one-to-one support to children with additional needs
  • Nurturing independence, self-confidence, and social skills
  • Monitoring and tracking progress to support learning outcomes
  • Maintaining high standards in teaching and differentiating for diverse learners
  • Demonstrating empathy and integrity whilst upholding the school’s Christian ethos
  • Ensuring all actions align with safeguarding policies and the company’s implementation of safeguarding checks (including enhanced DBS clearance and Children’s Barring List checks)

Key Responsibilities

The role will require:

✅ supporting children with SEN, tailoring interventions to meet their individual needs ✅ working collaboratively with teachers and senior staff to adapt learning for diverse learners ✅ Keeping detailed records and tracking student progress ✅ Building trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues ✅ Demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and transparency in all interactions ✅ Demonstrating commitment to lifelong learning—enthusiastic engagement in training is highly valued


Person Specification

To be considered, you should exhibit:

📌 Experience or qualifications in:

  • Children’s support and education, ideally with knowledge of SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (SEN)
  • A Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Learning Support, or related field (or eligibility to commence it)

💶 Hours: Term time only, 21.25 hours per week for a fixed placement (until July 2027) 💵 Grade & Pay: Grade C SCP 5 -8 - £25,583 - £26,824 per annum Current p.a. salary between £13,018 - £13,886
