Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Lease Officer to join our team in Derby, supporting Aether, Rolls-Royce’s global asset management division. Aether manages civil aircraft engines on behalf of third-party owners, enabling efficient leasing and redelivery operations worldwide.

In this role, you will be accountable for acquisition, transfer, and technical processing of engines, ensuring timely lease execution, asset valuation preservation, and customer satisfaction. As part of a fast-growing team, you’ll work closely with senior management and cross-functional business units, including Derby-based operations with London-based support functions.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Engine Acquisition & Transfer Management

    • Oversee the acquisition and transfer of engines from external and internal parties.
  • Technical Acceptance & Client Recommendations

    • Conduct technical reviews and provide recommendations to customers leveraging asset management expertise.

  • Engine Documentation & Compliance

    • Manage technical records and ensure alignment with lease delivery/redelivery requirements.
    • Verify the physical condition of engines during transitions between lease holders.
  • Continuous Asset Maintenance

    • Oversee due diligence, servicing compliance, and redelivery assessment of leased engines.
    • Resolve operational issues while maintaining high-level customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Problem-Solving & Collaboration

    • Identify operational challenges and facilitate resolutions proactively.

Position Qualifications

Essential

  • A degree in Aircraft Maintenance Management, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a comparable role.

  • Proven professional experience in:

    • Customer services
    • Technical project management in aircraft/engine leasing, airliners, or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) operations.
    • Collaboration with aircraft operators, airlines, or engine advisory firms.
  • Willingsness to travel as required—including short-notice assignments.

Preferred

  • Technical knowledge of Rolls-Royce Trent engine operations or other relevant aero engines.
  • Cost-benefit analysis or financial project management skills.
  • Hands-on experience in engine asset/lease software (e.g., CMS, STREAM, EFPAC, Flydocs, Leasepoint, Salesforce, OEM engine portals).
  • Experience prioritising workloads to meet tight deadlines in a high-stakes environment.
  • Advanced customer relationship and negotiation skills, particularly with airline operators or MRO providers.
  • Problem-solving ability with a customer-centric focus.
