We are seeking a Course Leader to join our team. In this role you will undertake all teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development responsibilities associated with a Lecturer role while providing academic leadership and operational oversight for designated programmes within Further and Higher Education.

You will be responsible for ensuring the overall quality, performance, and continuous improvement of the programme through effective curriculum design, quality assurance, and annual monitoring activities.

The role involves planning and delivering engaging and inclusive teaching, coordinating module delivery, overseeing assessment practices, and monitoring student achievement, retention, and progression to support positive outcomes. You will also support and mentor teaching staff, ensure compliance with awarding body and institutional requirements, and act as the primary academic point of contact for students and stakeholders.

Through strong leadership and a commitment to excellence, you will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that enables students to achieve their full academic and professional potential.

About the role:

  • Responsible for the whole study programme overseeing the academic quality, delivery, enrichment, student outcomes, and course administration
  • To monitor standards of students' work against awarding organisation guidelines and to raise achievement levels.
  • Working with area leadership teams to ensure management of quality assurance and provision. Ensuring appropriate requirements are met for external verification.
  • Lead on modelling best practise through the development of subject curricula to include Technology Enhanced Learning and innovative delivery methods.
  • Comprehensive teaching responsibilities (designing schemes of work, assessing, preparation, delivery, marking, individual student tutoring).
  • Designing, developing, and reviewing curriculum materials in line with programme specifications and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Delivering engaging and innovative teaching using a variety of pedagogical approaches to meet diverse learner needs.

Essential Experience:

  • Educated to Level 3 or above and/or hold a relevant professional qualification in the subject area, or educated to degree level (or higher) in a relevant subject or equivalent.
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (GCSE Grade 4/C or above, CSE Level 1, O-Level Grade C or above, Level 2 Adult Numeracy/Literacy, or equivalent).
  • Hold a Level 5 Teaching Qualification, or be willing to achieve one within three years of employment or within three years of the first available course opportunity.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience, including team management, effective decision-making, and the ability to motivate, support, and guide others to achieve shared objectives.
  • Experience of working with young people in an educational, training, mentoring, or support capacity.
  • Experience of teaching, training delivery, or facilitating learning, with the ability to engage and support learners effectively
