Sydney, NSW Work Type: Part Time (7 hours per week) Employment Type: Part-time (2-Year Fixed Term) Remuneration: $133,065 AUD base prorated (with 17% superannuation and leave loading) Job No: 540760 Work Rights: Visa sponsorship unavailable. Must hold full rights to work in Australia.

About the Role

This Education Focussed role supports clinical teaching for students within the UNSW Medicine Program, based at the Randwick Clinical Campus within the School of Clinical Medicine.

UNSW’s Education Focussed roles (EF) allow academics to specialise in education, focusing on delivering high-quality teaching assets and enhancing the educational experience for students. Successful applicants will be instrumental in driving educational excellence at the university.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality clinical teaching to students during rotations.
  • Contribute towards the design, development, and delivery of education programs for undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
  • Collaborate with peers to innovate and enhance the medical curriculum based on educational trends and student needs.
  • Utilise and develop knowledge of educational technologies and online teaching methods to support effective learning.
  • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning environment for all students, particularly student Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) groups.

Key Skills & Experience Required

All applicants must demonstrate:

  • Strong clinical expertise, complemented by a higher degree in a related discipline or extensive relevant industry experience.
  • Evidence of active engagement in professional development.
  • Proven ability in teaching and learning design, curriculum development, and education delivery.
  • Experience with educational technologies and online learning platforms.
  • Track record of teaching excellence, demonstrated through:
    • Disciplines-based curriculum design—degree-based (e.g., undergraduate, postgraduate).
    • Engaging and innovating teaching practices.
  • Desirable: Experience with work-integrated learning or recognised expertise in industry collaborations.
  • Personal attributes:
    • Strong interpersonal skills and organisational ability.
    • Passion for student success, diversity, equity, and inclusion (EDI).
