Role: Lecturer – Engineering

Hours: 14 hours per week, 0.4 FTE

Salary: £13,340.40 – £18,958.80 (Prorated for £33,351.00 - £47,397.00 FTE )

Employer Pension Contribution: 28.68%

Location: Stockport (although requirements across the Group may require cover at other sites)


The Trafford & Stockport College Group (TSCG) has an opportunity for an Engineering Lecturer to join the engineering team to help us achieve our vision of unlocking the potential and fostering the success of our students.

The engineering department at Trafford & Stockport College Group deliver a wide variety of knowledge and skills to full time learners, adults and apprentices.

The Role

You will be joining a strong engineering team at Trafford & Stockport College Group. As a department we deliver level 2 Engineering Operations, Level 3 AME, and T Level Engineering.

Strong candidates will have substantial experience in teaching engineering in an FE setting. We welcome applications from any engineering or STEM related discipline.

  • Industrial experience is preferred but not essential
  • You will have the opportunity to have your specialism shine, as well as to be able to input in curriculum delivery, making sure your industrial experience is put to excellent use

Although this is a part time role, there may be an opportunity in the future to expand it to more hours and or full time.

Desirable

We are looking to expand the experience and knowledge within the engineering department and would encourage applications with any of the following:

  • Experience in teaching STEM based subjects
  • Assessor/ IQA qualification
  • Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic knowledge, skills and experience
  • Design, CAD, CNC, Additive manufacturing skills and experience
  • Practical mechanical workshop skills
  • Mechanical, fabrication or maintenance knowledge, skills and experience
  • Construction design and planning

It is desirable to have some experience of delivering level 2 & 3 engineering post 16 setting and would be an ideal position for either an established teacher, a Graduate or someone who is looking to move out of industry and pass on their skills to the next generation of young people.
