Lecturer in English – Berkshire College of Agriculture

Overview

Windsor Forest Colleges Group is seeking a passionate Lecturer in English to join their team at Berkshire College of Agriculture, offering a permanent, part-time (0.8 FTE) position with a salary range from £25,306.40 (T1) to £36,272.80 (T11) for full-time equivalent pay of £31,633–£45,341.

Expected start date: 19th August 2026

This role supports post-16 learners in developing essential reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills necessary to succeed in GCSE or Functional Skills qualifications. You will deliver engaging lessons on our Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ campus and adapt teaching in collaboration with Learning Support Assistants to accommodate diverse student needs.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to learners with varied starting points, fostering confidence in English.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants to adapt curriculum and assist all students in progress.
  • Assess students’ progress, identify skill gaps, and implement strategies to reinforce learning.
  • Promote confidence-building and attendance among students who may struggle with traditional English education.
  • Play an active role in enhancing the delivery of qualifications while aligning with the college’s continued improvement plans and safeguarding standards.

We are seeking an individual who:

  • Demonstrates expertise in English education and a commitment to student success.
  • Shares a passion for our mission, accuracy, and safety.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and a desire to engage students with limited confidence or enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Having proven experience in teaching will provide you with mental health training benefitsand demonstrable toolkit skills.
