About The Post
This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.
Background
At the University of Westminster, we combine inspiring teaching, London and global connections, interdisciplinary collaborations, close professional links and policy-focused research to transform individuals and wider society. We are a vibrant, sustainable and broad-based institution proud of our heritage of almost 200 years and always looking forward. You will become part of a community of around 50 permanent academic staff and additional part-time visiting lecturers. You will join a team of highly qualified lecturers and researchers. The successful candidate for each post is expected to be capable of working harmoniously in a close, team-based environment, fully supporting management, and demonstrating the ability to take on academic leadership responsibilities.
You will be based at the University’s Marylebone campus, opposite Baker Street Station, centrally located and immersed in London’s business community.
The Role
The School of Finance and Accounting is continuing its expansion and seeking to recruit staff talent to meet its emerging priorities for delivering teaching excellence. The school is re-imagining its staffing provision to meet future student employment trends by building and acquiring expertise in accounting, finance and financial information systems. We are particularly looking to recruit lecturers with expertise in Accounting disciplines, and would be interested in hearing from practitioners with professional experience in this subject area.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
