Job Description
Leeds School of Architecture (established in 1902) is part of Leeds School of Arts at Leeds Beckett University. Our dynamic studio-based courses address the critical and creative role of the contemporary designer in relation to physical and social contexts - from the revitalisation and the sustainability of the urban environment to live projects and community participation, to the application of forms of digital fabrication or new technologies, to the exploration of new media reinventing languages of multidisciplinary practice. Design practice, technology and history and theory modules are inextricably linked. Leeds School of Architecture questions what it means to practise architecture by testing and expanding architecture’s possibilities and responsibilities within society, across cultural systems, and in relation to shared environmental and ecological challenges.
Leeds School of Architecture’s pedagogical provision comprises the following programmes BA (Hons) Architecture; BA(Hons) Interior Architecture; BA(Hons) Landscape Architecture and Design; Integrated Master of Architecture; Master of Architecture; Master of Architecture (Advanced); PG Dip Architectural Professional Practice; MA Expanded Spatial Practices; MA Interior Architecture Practices of Reuse; MA Architecture, and MA/MALA Landscape Architecture There are dynamic engagements between staff and students through our interdisciplinary studio culture facilitated by the exceptional provision at Broadcasting Place and the wider resources across the Leeds School of Arts.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
