About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Blacksmith & Welding Lecturer to join our growing team at our Kingston Maurward Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in Blacksmithing and Welding, supporting students to:
- Achieve outstanding outcomes
- Develop industry-ready skills
- Progress into employment or further study
The role will contribute to the continued development of Kingston Maurward’s land-based provision, integrating:
- Practical, hands-on experience
- Commercial training
- Employer-led learning within the curriculum
An additional skills allowance may be offered on top of the basic salary, depending on the candidate’s experience.

Requirements & Person Specification
Experience & Skills
- Strong practical experience in Blacksmithing and Welding
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality technical instruction
- Passion for vocational and industry-focused education
- Commitment to supporting student excellence and employability
Qualifications
- Relevant vocational or HND/HNC level qualification in Blacksmithing/Welding highly desired
- Teaching qualifications (or willingness to undertake them) a clear advantage
Personal Attributes
- Self-motivated and eager to contribute to a collaborative, dynamic team
- Strong desire to inspire and empower future tradespeople
- Understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults (enhanced DBS check required)
