Role

Due to continued growth within our Construction Department, we are looking to appoint Full & Part Time Lecturers in Carpentry & Joinery to join us from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing curriculum area, helping to shape provision and inspire the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of courses as assigned, ensuring that every student receives the guidance they need to succeed.
  • Implement effective feedback and assessment systems to monitor learning progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Uphold the standards of our Quality Assurance framework.
  • Manage course administration and organisation as needed.
  • Contribute to innovative curriculum development and implementation.
  • Maintain a professional and motivating learning environment, applying effective behaviour management practices.
  • Continuously develop your teaching skills for the benefit of student outcomes.

Essential Criteria

  • Possess a minimum of a relevant Level 3 vocational qualification.
  • Track record of successful teaching experience across a range of levels, including up to level 3.
  • Recent industry-related experience relevant to the academic discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant course subject matter and examination and assessment requirements.
  • Understanding of value added and the use of progress performance measures.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining external partnerships to enrich teaching and learning.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and raise the aspirations of learners through high-quality teaching.
