Salary
- Grade F Lecturer: £41,064 - £46,049 per annum
- Grade G Lecturer: £47,389 - £56,535 per annum

The Role
The successful candidate will work within the School of Pharmacy, contributing to teaching and research activities primarily underpinning the MPharm programme. This appointment seeks individuals with:
- Proven teaching and supervisory experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate settings
- Specialist knowledge in clinical pharmacy relevant to practice-focused education
- ่าน経験 working in a School of Pharmacy or equivalent clinical education environment
The School integrates seamlessly with the Faculty of Medical Sciences and benefits from collaborative teaching and research links with the following institutes:
- Biosciences Institute (NUBI)
- Population and Health Sciences Institute (PHSI)
- Translational and Clinical Research Institute (TCRI)

Key Accountabilities
The Lecturer will be responsible for the following core and supporting duties:
Core Duties
- Provide specialist expertise in contemporary clinical pharmacy fields
- Lead and supervise teaching, learning, and assessment across multiple School programmes, with an initial focus on pharmacy practice components of the MPharm programme
- Supervise clinical placements in partner organisations
- Participate in administrative duties, committee work, and school/faculty activities as required
- Contribute to professional development activities (internal and external to the University)
- Help to promote pharmacy programmes (both undergraduate and postgraduate) to current and prospective students
- Act as a personal tutor and provide academic and pastoral support for assigned students
- Contribute to the School’s research strategy, linking with other University groups for income generation and impact
- Depending on job level, contribute to published research and presentations (as commensurate with experience)
- Undertake other duties as instructed by the Head of School, including participation in relevant meetings

The Person
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Deep expertise in a contemporary field of clinical pharmacy, including familiarity with:
- NHS pharmacy services (e.g., community, primary care, or secondary care)
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team
- Strong organisation, planning, and administrative skills
- Demonstrated experience in teaching clinical pharmacy (either at undergraduate or postgraduate levels) or comparable clinical supervision
- Specialist knowledge in an area aligned with the clinical pharmacy strand of the MPharm curriculum

Desirable Additional Qualifications/Experience
- Familiarity with current accredited MPharm programme structures and processes
- Experience in academic programme management
- A track record of peer-reviewed publications in line with career stage

Disclosure Requirements
- Evidence of sustained clinical experience OR a PhD or Professional Doctorate in pharmacy or a closely related field, OR
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (or international equivalent)

- Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy
- Independent Prescriber status
