Lecturer in Costume Design
Senior Lecturer / Lecturer in Costume Design (Permanent)
Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an experienced academic and practitioner within the field of costume design, with a proven track record in theatre, public events, festivals, film, or television. This role will involve teaching, research, and student support across a programme with strong industry links.
Your expertise will help elevate the programme’s reputation, ensuring students receive specialist training in key areas and gain practical experience through industry placements (e.g., BBC, ITV, and leading theatres across the North West).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver teaching materials across a range of modules or within a specialist subject area
- Supervise student projects, including field trips, placements, and postgraduate dissertations where applicable
- Identify opportunities for curriculum enhancement, ensuring content remains ** Up-to-date and industry-relevant**
- Conduct individual or collaborative research aligned with the School/University’s strategic priorities
- Provide academic and pastoral support to ensure students’ success
