Work Model: A hybrid arrangement (3–4 travel days on campus), adaptable to operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and evaluate postgraduate modules in Data Science/Cyber Security, ensuring up-to-date pedagogical practices
- Lectures utilising diverse formats to achieve inclusive, engaging learning experiences
- Student mentorship in dissertations, capstones, and industry-backed projects
- Active participation in curriculum updates, quality reviews, and programme enhancements
- Industry liaison to sustain programme relevance (e.g., invitations, guest lectures, assessments)
- Adherence to both academic duties (e.g., collation, examen boards) and administrative tasks
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Criteria
✅ A postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience in) Data Science, Cyber Security, Computing, or allied disciplines ✅ Teaching experience in higher education or professional training environments ✅ Command of a specialist domain within one of these foci:
- Data Science: Machine learning, advanced analytics, big data frameworks, AI ethics/applications
- Cyber Security: Ethical hacking, threat intelligence, digital forensics, and security architecture ✅ Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills ✅ Alliance with learner-centred, evidence-based teaching principles and academic rigour
Desirable Additional Knowledge/Experience
🔥 Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure or CCNA) 🔥 Industry experience relevant to programmes in Data Science/Cyber Security 🔥 Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), or interest in completing training
