- Salary: £50,253 – £61,759 per annum
- Contract: Full-time (35 hours/week) permanent
- Location: Edinburgh
- Post type: Open-ended (permanent) contract + on-call requirements (1 in 6 rota)

The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (R(D)SVS) is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced farm clinician to join as a Lecturer in Farm Animal Practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively develop and manage the Farm Animal Practice & Hospital, including first-opinion veterinary care for local farms (specialising in beef, sheep, dairy, camelids, pigs, and smallholders).
- Provide referral and consultancy services, alongside undergraduate teaching in farm animal husbandry and disease prevention.
- Engage in research to strengthen our clinical and husbandry knowledge.
- Collaboration across teams to uphold professional standards and drive the reputation of R(D)SVS.

- Mobile hydraulic foot trimming crush
- 3 Easiscans (electronic scanning systems)
- 1 Sector scanner
- Portable digital X-ray
- On-site lab/testing equipment (including post-mortem and clinical pathology)
- Participation in recognised residency programmes (ECBHM and ECSRHM).
- Access to specialist surgical and diagnostic services when required.
Requirements
- MRCVS qualification essential.
- Extensive farm animal experience.
- Preference given to candidates with postgraduate qualifications (not mandatory).
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, communicated effectively with colleagues, clients, and students.
- Must hold or be eligible for UK Ordinary Driving Licence (free of significant penalties).
- Satisfactory Level 2 Disclosure Check required.
- Eligible to become, or already holds status as, an Official Veterinarian.
To be an Official Veterinarian, applicants must meet UK legal requirements (e.g., familiarity with OIE, welfare and food hygiene legislation).
