Lecturer in Fashion
The School of Art and Design is looking for an enthusiastic and flexible lecturer to join our contemporary, forward-thinking, and high-achieving team.
Working closely with our students, stakeholders, and employers, you will strive for continuous improvement and higher standards for the benefit of the whole community. We aim to do the ordinary things extraordinarily well.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a broad range of skills to predominantly teach on our UAL Level 3 Fashion course. You will be delivering both industry skills and knowledge to our eager students.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
Candidates should demonstrate competence in various creative and technical processes such as but not limited to:
- Industry garment production skills, processes & methods
- Creative textiles & experimental surface textures
- Sustainable design practices
- Communication and presentation skills
- Some experience of technical pattern cutting
- Knowledge and experience of Adobe digital programmes, the design development process, fibres, and fabrics is desirable

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be:
- Positive, enthusiastic, resilient, and eager to seek out development opportunities for our courses
- Able to demonstrate an adaptive and flexible teaching style to support and stretch a diverse range of students
Teaching experience and relevant qualifications are desirable although we are keen to hear from anyone with the right skills and is willing to engage in self-development.
Course Development and Assessment
It is essential that our courses reflect industry practices, and you will be key in driving course development to ensure it remains relevant and meets contemporary industry needs. You should also expect to provide prompt, accurate, and detailed assessment of student work at key stages during the academic year.
