Essential Details
- Salary: £42,663–£49,399 per annum (including +£4,000 London weighting, if applicable)
- Employment Type: Permanent
- Hours per Week: 37
- Location: Requires 3–4 days per week on the London Stratford campus, with 1 flexible day working from home (campus presence may increase to 5 days depending on teaching and meetings). Hybrid working is non-contractual and may vary.

The Department of Foundation Degrees delivers vocational and work-based learning programmes, designed for widening participation and disadvantaged student groups. Programmes include:
- Foundation Year routes & CertHE support
- "On Track" progression & resit assistance
- University-wide orientation events

About the Role
We seek a Lecturer in Health & Care FdSc to join the newly established Department of Foundation Degrees, supporting the delivery of the Health & Care FdSc programme across campuses.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Lecturing (face-to-face & blended/online for 16–20 hours/week)
- Module development (with opportunities for Module Leadership)
- Student engagement & risk mitigation through:
- Assessment support (1-1s, group tutorials, feedback sessions)
- Resit & academic progression clinics
- At-risk student tracking (phone calls, virtual/face-to-face tutorials)
- Academic support & programme innovation:
- Collaborating on programme refreshes/creations in line with industry trends
- Developing interactive teaching materials (videos, podcasts, VLE activities)
- Leading student orientation weeks
- Assessment oversight: Marking, creating authentic assessments, and ensuring high-quality feedback
Key Areas of Focus (Subject Experience Required)
Level 4 Modules:
- Collaborative Cultures in Health and Social Care
- Entrepreneurship and Health Innovation
- Sustainable Business Practice in Health and Care
Level 5 Modules:
- Concepts of Compassionate Leadership
- Evidence-Based Practice in Multidisciplinary Working
- Financial and Digital Health Development
- Applied Work-Based Learning for Health and Social Care
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in:
- Health, Health & Care Management, or Health and Social Care-related fields
- Teaching qualification recognised within Higher Education (or commitment to achieve FHEA/SFHEA Fellowship within 12 months)
- Strong Commitment to CPD, demonstrating practical teaching enhancement
