Salary: £29,455 unqualified to £33,487 qualified, plus benefits

About the role
Are you an experienced health professional ready to share your knowledge and inspire the next generation? North Notts College is recruiting a Lecturer in Health to join its growing Health and Social Care team. This role offers an opportunity for an experienced practitioner, tutor or assessor to use their professional expertise to support learners preparing for careers across the health sector.
You will teach and assess Health and Social Care programmes from Level 1 to Level 5. You will plan engaging lessons, develop relevant learning resources, assess learner work and monitor progress. You will also set clear targets and provide the support learners need to achieve positive outcomes.
We welcome applications from experienced teachers and health professionals who are considering a move into education. Full support is available for the successful candidate to work towards relevant teaching and assessing qualifications.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver practical, theoretical and digital learning across Health and Social Care programmes.
- Plan and deliver high-quality teaching that reflects current industry practice.
- Assess learner work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Monitor attendance, progress and achievement, taking early action where learners require further support.
- Set meaningful targets that help learners develop their knowledge, skills and professional behaviours.
- Contribute to curriculum development and create resources that support effective learning.
- Work closely with curriculum leaders, lecturers, support teams and external partners.

About you
- Hold a relevant vocational qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification and assessor award, or be willing to work towards them.
- Hold Level 2 English and Maths qualifications, or equivalent, or be willing to work towards them.
- Bring current or recent health sector knowledge into the classroom.
- Experience within nursing, mental health or another relevant healthcare setting would be an advantage.
- Communicate confidently, work well within a team and support learners from a range of backgrounds and starting points.
- Use practical examples and industry experience to make learning relevant and engaging.

Working arrangements
The Group’s main operating hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm, with provision operating until 9.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time. The successful candidate will work within these hours according to curriculum and business needs.
